Barbershop Blood Pressure (BBP) was created by a nurse to help you live a healthy and happy life. It is a charity with no fees or subscriptions, we will not ask you for money, and your personal information is never sold or given away.
High blood pressure is the leading cause of heart disease and stroke, earning it the name "Silent Killer." It affects about one in three men and women over 30, and because it often has no symptoms, most people don't know they have it.
Your barber or hair stylist can quickly check your blood pressure and heartbeat during your haircut, and these monitors will also detect the irregular heart rhythm Atrial Fibrillation (A Fib), another hidden problem.
You can save the results on your private My Health page that has links to videos, tips, and resources that inform and support you to make healthy Lifestyle Choices. If your blood pressure is high or low, or you have A Fib, the app will advise you what to do. If you don't have a doctor, it can direct you to local free or low-cost healthcare.

The Barbershop Blood Pressure program gives automatic blood pressure monitors to Barbershops and Hair Salons free of charge, so they can screen their clients and themselves for High Blood Pressure and A Fib. We also provide heart healthy educational resources, and connections to local health clinics to help prevent and treat potentially serious health problems such as a heart attack and stroke.
